Guide to choosing the right led lights
Guide to choosing the right led lights
We still have some insecurities when buying LED lights. It
is normal to have doubts when choosing the right led lights, because until now
we only worried about the shape of the bulb and its watts, but now there are more
factors that we can control.
It is worth investing a little time in understanding how
these bulbs work because once we know how to choose them, it is not really that
complicated and we will be choosing the most suitable lights for each corner of
the house. But, what do we have to fix? Mainly in these factors:
How to choose the right led lights for my home
The consumption of the bulb and spotlight:
The watts are important because they indicate the
consumption that the bulb will generate. To make it easier the manufacturers
usually put in the containers to what they are equivalent in relation to the
old bulbs. For example, they indicate that an 18W led bulb and spotlight can equal a classic
100W bulb.
In the bedroom, we will always choose soft lights, since
normally we are not going to carry out activities that require great lighting.
Bulbs around 6 W are usually enough. You can even choose the lower power if you
are going to place several in a lamp. For corridors, 6 W or 10 W lights are
recommended depending on the natural light passing through them. In the living
room, everything will depend on how the lighting is used and the environments
that you want to create, while the kitchen and bathroom should bet on intense
lights to see with maximum clarity betting on those between 13 W and 18 W
The intensity and the warmth of the light
The lumens is the intensity of light. Before we did not pay
attention to that, we only looked at consumption. But now to choose the right
led lights, we are looking at bulbs whose consumption is very low and that is
why we must check how many lumens they offer for each watt of consumption.
Thus, we will know which bulbs are more efficient.
The tone of light is something we already knew. The light
can range from bluish white to yellow. Normally indicated as cold light,
neutral light or warm light, the first being the whitest and the last the most
yellow.
For the bedrooms, the warm lights are more suitable as they
are spaces to relax and be at ease. The cold lights are ideal for spaces such
as storage rooms or garages in which a lot of light is needed. In the kitchen
and in the bathroom, cold or neutral lights are the most recommended. For
hallways and dining neutral lights they are very suitable, while in the living the room again will depend on the type of environment you want to create, and can
play with different types of bulbs, such as neutral for the main lamp and the
warm ones for indirect lighting or small lamps that light up to chat or to
watch a movie.
